A Late 16th Century Flemish Tapestry Panel
The fine chateau in the centre, flanked by garden walkways. To the fore of the chateau is a hunting scene, with figures on horses, huntsmen and hounds. Woven in silk and wool, the colours remain strong and clear.
Oudenaarde, circa 1580.
Width 70 inches, height 65 inches.
A similar tapestry of the same series and workshop hangs in the Metropolitan Museum in New York.
