A Rare Small Charles I Oak Table Box

Having a boarded top, with simple quarter-moulded edge, opening on the original “pin” or “wire” hinges, to reveal an interior containing a shelf below an open “box or “till”.

The front board is beautifully carved with a single large lunette, centred by a finely shaped lockplate set above and between out-pointing stylised leaves, all enriched with tiny stamped circles and scrolls.

The end boards are again beautifully carved, with flamboyant joining “S” scrolls, and stylised foliage.

Lovely colour and condition.
